Fuel cards have always been beneficial, which is one of the reasons the products have been created and lasted from the 80s till now. Any product on the market is not going to survive if it cannot be beneficial. Luckily, for these cards they are becoming more and more important to fleet companies.
Discount fuel is a major concern given recent fuel costs. With the rise of diesel and petrol it makes it harder for companies to operate without worry. If a company’s revenue is used all on one area it makes it harder for other areas of the business. This is why discount fuel whether it is due to a fixed fuel cost or not is imperative.
There are some of these helpful cards that allow you to use them at multiple locations and others that are limited. For example Arval fuel cards are going to be limited to only the shops that accept them; however, Arval may be more widely accepted than other products.
BP fuel cards are limited to BP locations only. Any fuel station that is part of the BP brand will accept the cards. BP is one of the larger supporters of UK fuel stations, which means you tend to find more locations that accept these cards over others.
Cards for fuel will limit the need for cash. Cash may still need to be carried by drivers to purchase food items and other items the fleet company is unwilling to cover, but on the other hand they always have. Where there is a limit to the cash needed is in the fuel purchases and any purchases for truck related materials like oil. The cards can be used for more than just fuel purchases. They can also be handy for truck items such as new wipers, oil, and other things a driver might need related to the operation of their truck.
The invoices are going to show a breakdown of charges based on the card, which means based on the driver. If there are any purchases the driver should have paid for on their own it is possible to find them and make certain the arrangements are made such as withholding from the pay cheque.
